From April 20 to 26, Ukraine will host the Ukrainian Intellectual Property Week (IP WEEK 2026), organized by the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
IP Academy is joining the initiative and preparing educational activities to mark World Intellectual Property Day, celebrated annually on April 26.
As part of the program, two educational streams will be held, focusing on the role of intellectual property in sports, innovation, and personal branding.
«Athlete’s Personal Brand: From Reputation to Opportunities»
An educational stream for students and educators of vocational pre-higher and higher education institutions will be held on the topic «Athlete’s Personal Brand: From Reputation to Opportunities», dedicated to the role of intellectual property in shaping and developing a personal brand in sports.

During the stream, participants will learn:
- what an athlete’s personal brand is and why it is vital;
- the connection between personal branding and intellectual property;
- how intellectual property is commercialized within the sports industry;
- practical cases of using athletes’ names, image, and reputation.
Special attention will be paid to how intellectual property tools contribute to increasing athletes’ visibility, developing partnerships, and creating new opportunities for professional growth.

An educational stream for teachers and students of secondary and extracurricular education institutions will be held on the topic «Sport of the Future: Innovative Solutions Changing the Game», dedicated to modern technologies in sports and their legal protection in the field of intellectual property.

During the stream, participants will learn:
- which innovations are shaping modern sport and how they influence its development;
- how technologies can be protected as intellectual property objects;
- why it is important to protect innovative solutions;
- how ideas are transformed into solutions that change the rules of the game in the sports industry.
Special attention will be paid to practical examples of the use of innovations in sports and their role in creating new development opportunities.
