The training course consists of the following thematic modules delivered through recorded video lectures:
- Introduction to Works Made for Hire and Intellectual Property Rights;
- Introduction to Copyright and Related Rights;
- Legal Requirements for the Lawful Creation of Copyright and Related Rights Objects;
- Allocation of Economic Rights to Copyright and Related Rights Objects in Education and Research;
- State Registration of Copyright;
- Fundamentals of Commercializing Intellectual and Creative Outputs Made for Hire;
- Legal Frameworks for the Protection and Commercialization of Industrial Property Objects Made for Hire;
- Valuation and Accounting of Intangible Assets in Educational and Research Institutions.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- analyze the legal frameworks regulating relations among authors, employers, and other entities in education and research regarding intellectual property objects made for hire;s;
- differentiate the requirements for the lawful creation and use of copyright and related rights objects
- determine the ownership and distribution of property rights to intellectual property objects in education and research;
- navigate the procedures for filing and state registration of rights to works and other results of intellectual activity;
- apply the fundamentals of commercialization of intellectual and creative results created under employment contracts, taking into account the interests of both the institution and the author;
- consider the specifics of valuation, accounting, and management of intangible assets in educational and research institutions.
This course provides participants with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills regarding the legal protection of intellectual and creative works created in connection with the performance of an employment contract in vocational, professional pre-higher, and higher education institutions.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- gain access to 8 recorded video lectures and a recorded Q&A session covering the most frequently asked questions;
- develop practical (hard) skills through practical tasks;
- explore a selection of recommended literature for self-study;
- assess their progress during final testing;
- receive a certificate, provided they complete the course and successfully pass the final test.
