Upon completion of the programme, participants will be able to:
- evaluate the nature of intellectual property and its strategic value as a core startup asset;
- identify intellectual property assets within a digital product, including code, design, content, databases, names, logos, domains, presentation materials, and marketing content;
- distinguish among copyright, trademarks, patents, industrial designs, trade secrets, and contractual protection mechanisms;
- classify which intellectual property rights arise automatically and which require formal registration or contractual arrangements;
- assess risks associated with the use of third-party code, images, fonts, music, templates, AI-generated content, and open-source components;
- develop a basic intellectual property protection strategy for a startup;
- prepare an initial IP checklist for a team, investor, accelerator programme, or product launch.
This is a unique opportunity for students to learn how to protect their startup or digital product at different stages of development. Over five days, participants will have the opportunity to attend lectures, explore practical case studies, participate in interactive workshops, and work on their own startup ideas together with leading intellectual property experts.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- join five online sessions delivered by experienced experts and practitioners;
- ask questions to UANIPIO experts and invited speakers;
- develop practical skills through interactive sessions and workshops;
- receive a certificate upon successful completion of the programme.
