In their presentations, the speakers shared modern approaches to brand protection in the public sector, international practices, and new tools for communicating the value of intellectual capital.
Vladyslav Bilotskyi, Deputy Director of UANIPIO and Chair of the Appeals Chamber, emphasized that sustainable development of public governance is impossible without institutional cooperation and an understanding of the value of intellectual capital:
«Constant communication between state institutions and systematic professional development form the foundation of effective public governance, built on respect for knowledge, law, and intellectual capital. In times of global challenges, a shared understanding of the value of intangible assets and the ability to work with them are key to building a strong, flexible, and responsible state. The ability to protect and develop a brand is no longer just about reputation, but about the strategic capacity of the entire governance sector.»
Vladyslav Bilotskyi
In turn, Dr. Mykola Pototskyi, Deputy Director of UANIPIO, stressed the importance of integrating intellectual property into political culture:
«The development of political culture will improve the quality of policy-making and implementation across various sectors. An important component of political culture is the recognition of creative, inventive, and innovative activities, the protection of their results, as well as compliance with intellectual property rights and the conduct of innovative business. Drawing the attention of lawmakers and politicians to the role of intellectual property in political activity—using the example of how branding shapes the political landscape—will foster a deeper understanding of the potential of intellectual property as an asset. At the IP Office, we believe in the inexhaustible opportunities of intellectual capital and actively work to promote the benefits that intellectual property provides in different areas of public life.»
Mykola Pototskyi
Partnership and Strategic Significance
The course was made possible thanks to cooperation with the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, to whom we express our sincere gratitude for the partnership.
Disseminating knowledge of intellectual property within the public administration system is a step toward legal sustainability, stronger institutions, and the creation of a new type of political environment—strategic, transparent, and values-driven.
