Dialogue with Hotel Industry Representatives: «All Inclusive: What Has Your Hotel Forgotten to Pay For?»

Avatar

As part of the «Play&Pay: Use Music Legally» information campaign, we continue our series of meetings with businesses and invite representatives of hotels and apartment complexes to join a dialogue on the lawful use of music.

Music in Hotels: Guest Service and Copyright Considerations

Music is a common part of hotel services and helps create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. At the same time, its use involves compliance with copyright and related rights and, in certain cases, requires obtaining the appropriate permissions and paying remuneration to right holders.

When does a hotel need permission to use music? Who is responsible for granting such a permission? How does the licensing system work, and what exactly does a business pay for? What are the most common mistakes in practice?

These are the questions we invite representatives of the hotel industry to discuss as part of the «Play&Pay: Use Music Legally» information campaign.

The meeting will focus not only on legal aspects but, above all, on an open dialogue with businesses. Participants will have an opportunity to share their practical experience, ask experts questions and jointly explore the practical aspects of using music.

During the dialogue, participants will be able to:

  • discover in which cases the use of music in the hotel industry requires permission;
  • find out who grants the relevant permissions and how the licensing system works;
  • identify what should be taken into account when organising the use of music in a hotel or apartment complex;
  • examine common situations and mistakes that arise in practice and ways to avoid them;
  • put questions about their own situations and receive practical guidance from experts.

Special attention will be paid to participants’ questions and real-life cases from the hotel industry. Participants will be able to submit their questions and cases during registration so that the experts can take the issues currently relevant to businesses into account when preparing for the meeting.
